a-muse studio is the home of Kerryn’s teaching and music therapy practice.
Having worked as both a music therapist and music educator for over two decades, Kerryn is passionate about how these two closely aligned fields intersect.
Over the years
Kerryn has taught violin in school systems, community outreach programmes and in her studio at home. She has run pre-school music groups across a rich diversity of South Africa’s cultures and communities.
She has worked as a music therapist in a myriad of different settings and with all ages.
Kerryn has developed and implemented programmes based on music therapy principles for both residents of retirement villages and for little children, all of whom thrive on music as a tool for connection, expression and psycho-social support.

Kerryn co-founded the non-profit organisation, MusicWorks, over 2 decades ago. Currently, she is running MusicWorks’ Early Childhood Development programme in communities in the Western and Eastern Cape. This year the programme will expand to work alongside ECD practitioners in KwaZulu Natal.
